The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most iconic cars in history, known for its distinctive shape and long production run. It was conceived in the early 1930s as a "people's car", with the aim of providing an affordable and practical car for lower-class Germans.
Ferdinand Porsche and his team developed the car, and it was initially called the Volkswagen Type 1. Due to the outbreak of war, production was delayed until after the end of World War II. The car gained popularity and became known as the "Beetle" in the 1960s.
Volkswagen introduced various models and updates over the years, but the Beetle's basic design remained consistent. Despite declining popularity in the late 1970s and 1980s, the Beetle's production continued until 2003, making it one of the longest-produced car models in history.
This 1/72 scale model of a VW Käfer is made by the Ukranian manufacturer Military Wheels (MW). The quality of this kit is not very good, a short-run kit which requires a lot of work to fit everything together.
While this is a miliaty Type 93 model, I have build it as a civilian vehicle to be used on a 1930s airport. It has the same color as a VW Käfer once owned by my family.
In the end, I managed to complete this model and painted it with Revell Aqua.
