The Flettner Fl 282 Kolibri was a single-seat helicopter built in Germany during World War II. It was the first mass-produced helicopter and featured intermeshing rotors.

The Kolibri was designed for reconnaissance and transporting supplies between ships. It was later modified to carry an observer for artillery spotting. The helicopter performed well in bad weather, but production was hampered by Allied bombings.

It first flew in October 1941. Until the end of the war 20-30 of those little helicopters were build. Especially the Navy was interested in the helicopter and in 1942, experiments of ship-based operations were tested on the "Greif".

The model is a 1/72 Huma kit and one of those Huma models where you want to bite in your desk as the quality of the parts are not very good. It does not fit very well, and sometimes its hard to identify the part at all among all the clutter in the injection-moulded frame.
