The Volkswagen Type 82 Kübelwagen was a military light utility vehicle designed by Ferdinand Porsche and built by Volkswagen during World War II. It was based on the Volkswagen Beetle and was first deployed in Poland as the Type 62. The Kübelwagen was intended to be easily manhandled by its crew if they got stuck. It could seat four men and was lighter than the Jeep. The Kübelwagen's rolling chassis and mechanics were built at Wolfsburg, and its body was built by Ambi Budd Presswerke in Berlin.
