The BZ-38 was a Soviet fuel tanker designed specifically for refuelling aircraft. It was based on a popular truck chassis and was widely used by the Soviet Air Force before and during World War II. Key features of the BZ-38 included a 4-cylinder engine, a top speed of 65 km/h, and a large fuel capacity. A simplified version, the BZ-38U, was introduced in 1942 to meet the demands of the war.
This is a 1/72 scale model of a Soviet BZ-38 fuel truck made by the Ukranian manufacturer UM (UniModels).
A typical short-run kit with quite a lot of parts for its size, it was build OOB but as a civilian fuel truck. Painted in Revell Aqua.
