The BTR-60 is a Soviet eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier (APC) developed in the late 1950s. It was designed to replace the BTR-152 and BTR-40, which were found to be inadequate for modern warfare. The BTR-60 underwent several modifications throughout its production, including the addition of an armored roof and a turret-mounted machine gun. Despite its innovative design, the BTR-60 also had some drawbacks, such as its cramped troop compartment and lack of NBC protection.
