he BRDM-2 is an amphibious armoured scout car designed in the Soviet Union. It was intended to replace the older BRDM-1 and has improved amphibious capabilities and better armament. It has been exported extensively and is in use in at least 38 countries.
The BRDM-2 has a crew of four and is armed with a 14.5 mm KPVT heavy machine gun and a 7.62 mm PKT general-purpose machine gun. It is powered by a GAZ-41 gasoline V8 engine and has a top speed of 80 km/h on land and 10 km/h in water.
The BRDM-2 has been modernized several times, including the BRDM-2M-96, BRDM-2M-97, and BRDM-2M-98 variants. These modernizations have improved the vehicle's ergonomics, crew protection, and armament.
