HMS Eskimo was a Tribal-class destroyer that served throughout World War II. These destroyers were larger and more heavily armed than previous classes, with a main armament of eight 4.7-inch guns. Eskimo saw action in Norway, the Mediterranean, the English Channel, and Burma. During the Second Battle of Narvik, she was severely damaged by a torpedo. She was later damaged again by German dive bombers in the Mediterranean. Eskimo participated in sinking a German U-boat and also engaged German ships in the English Channel, sustaining further damage. After the war, she was used as an accommodation and headquarters ship before being used as a target and scrapped in 1949.
This 1/720 scale Revell model of a Tribal class destroyer was bundled with the HMS Ark Royal in a box.
Built in the early/mid 1980s, it is one of the oldest models I have. In the mid 1990s the model was completely reassembled and refurbished as it was also made with the Ark Royal.
It was built OOB and painted with Revell enamel.
