Space: 1999, a British sci-fi show from the 70s, tells the story of Moonbase Alpha and its inhabitants. A nuclear waste explosion on the Moon in 1999 blasts the Moon out of Earth's orbit, sending the moonbase and its people hurtling into space.
The Eagle is the main spacecraft used by the people living on Moonbase Alpha. It has three sections: a command module, a service pod, and a superstructure. It's quite fast, reaching speeds of 15% the speed of light, and can fly for 48 hours. There are different Eagle models, the most common one being the Transporter Eagle which can carry up to 12 people.
This IMAI model (1:100 scale) was pretty basic and more a toy than a detailed kit. Which I did not know when I got this one on ebay. The cargo container should get 4 wheels so that you could "play" with the build eably. Because of the wheels, the landing gear was too short, not touching the ground at all. Therefore I had to build a new one from scratch, using parts of two An-26 kits.
