A Junkers Ju 52/3m with D-AQUI registration. This is part of my Lufthansa 1930s collection.
The Junkers Ju 52/3m, nicknamed "Aunt Ju," began its career in 1930 as a 17-seat passenger airliner and utility transport aircraft for various civilian airlines like Swissair and Deutsche Luft Hansa. It was known for its corrugated metal skin design. Though initially offered in single and triple engine versions, the tri-motor configuration became the workhorse for civilian passenger and cargo transport throughout the 1930s.
The D-AQUI wasl flying as a historic Lufthansa plane. You could book flights with it (mostly in Germany, but some in other euopean contries as well), which I did do in 2010 ago. And this is really cool, especially the sound of those three engines.
Today, this plane does not fly anymore.
Model build OOB.
