The HA-200 Saeta was a jet trainer aircraft designed in Spain with significant contribution from German aircraft designer Willy Messerschmitt. It was the first Spanish jet aircraft and the first to have a pressurized cockpit. It was based on the earlier HA-100 Triana and was powered by two Turbomeca Marboré turbojet engines. The first prototype flew in 1955 and the aircraft entered service with the Spanish Air Force in 1962.

The aircraft was also exported to Egypt, where it was produced under license as the Helwan HA-200B Al-Kahira. The Egyptian Air Force used the HA-200 Saeta in combat during the Polisario uprisings in the Western Sahara in the mid-1970s.

The HA-200 Saeta was eventually replaced by the CASA C-101 in Spanish service.

The Hispano Aviación HA-220, a Spanish Ground attack aircraft based on the Hispano Aviación HA-200. This plane first flew in 1955 and was designed by Willy Messerschmitt. Most of the planes were used by the Spanish Airforce until the early 1980s. A few were exported to the UAE and today about 20 of the ~100 planes build are still in flying condition.

The model shows the HA-220 in Spanish services in 1975.

The model is a 1:72 kit from Speical Hobby. It contains several additional PE and resin parts and was quite good to build (altough I do not like the way how the wings are attached). Air brushed with Revell Aqua Color, the kit is build OOB and uses the original decals.
