The Junkers Ju 86 was a German airplane designed in the 1930s that could be used as a bomber or a passenger airplane. It was used by both the German airforce (Luftwaffe) and civilian airlines during World War II.
The Ju 86 was designed to be a fast airplane with a long range. It had a crew of four and could carry up to ten passengers or bombs. The first Ju 86 to fly used diesel engines, but later versions used gasoline engines because they were more reliable.
The Ju 86 was not as successful as the He 111 bomber, but it was still used by the Luftwaffe during the early part of World War II. Production of the Ju 86 ended in 1938.
It's an old Italieri kit, build out-of-the-box. Only the decals had to be replaced as the original ones were not usable at all.
It's not really a what-if, but at least the markings are those of a bomber used in Russia in 1942 - when the Ju 86 was not operating as a bomber anymore.
