The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, nicknamed "Huey", is a famous military helicopter. It was the first turbine-powered helicopter used by the US Army. Developed in the 1950s, it was first used in the Vietnam War for many purposes including transport, evacuation, and attack. Over 16,000 Hueys have been built and used by many countries around the world. The Huey has been upgraded many times, including a twin-engine version and a four-bladed derivative. Although phased out by the US Army in the early 21st century, the Huey is still in production and used by other countries.
Something I wanted to build for quite a while - a Heeresflieger UH-1. A few of them are still flying in the Bundeswehr.
When I was a kid, I lived not so far away from a Luftwaffe airbase. Every morning, a UH-1 flew from the airbase to a SAR station (maybe a hospital, I don't know) and in the evening it flew back. So I saw those helicopters quite often - and it you did not see them, you could hear their characteristic sound.
So I wanted to build one of those - this is a 1/72 scale Revell kit build OOB.
