HMS Amazon was the first ship of the Type 21 frigate class in the Royal Navy. Built in the 1970s, she faced construction delays and suffered a significant fire during her service.

Unlike her sister ships, Amazon did not participate in the Falklands War but served in the Persian Gulf instead. Due to hull issues common to the Type 21 class, she underwent extensive repairs in the 1980s.

In 1993, HMS Amazon was sold to the Pakistan Navy and renamed PNS Babur. It was decomissioned in2014.
